Male Nail Fungal Treatment
Male Laser Nail Fungal Infection Treatment In London
Fungal nail infection (Onychomycosis) is a common condition affecting every three in a hundred people in the UK. It makes the nail look discolored, thickened, and crumble at the edge. It can affect one or several nails. Lynton long pulsed ND: YAG Laser can effectively treat nail infection.

Why Fungal?
Common Reasons –
*Wrong Shoes
Shoes are a big problem for a lot as they are a closed environment where the toe can’t breathe very well.
Sports trainers are a problem as typically they get really hot sweaty and humid
Ballet type shoes worn commonly by women are also an issue as often socks are not worn
Lastly, synthetic shoes are bad news as they have no breathability
*Gel polish
As pretty as nail varnish and gel polish can look the problem is that the toenail cannot breathe especially through gel and acrylic
Sometimes the gel/acrylic will lift and water will get trapped inside… perfect environment for fungi!
Barefoot sports
We all know that the classic swimming pool where people so often walk around barefoot is a commonplace to pick up some sort of fungal problem on the feet
But anywhere such as yoga studio’s, spa areas or communal shower areas are just as bad as people walk barefoot in these humid environments.
Other reasons
- Age (Poor circulation)
Contagious – (living with someone who has one)
Repeated nail trauma/injury - Diabetes
Poor immune function
Inability to maintain good foot health
How can we treat Nail Fungal?
Pulses of light from the Lynton laser pass through the toenail to the fungus underneath. The fungus is irradiated without any damage to the surrounding nail or skin.
Depending on how many toes are being treated, the procedure will take 20-30 minutes.
Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and tolerable and no anaesthesia is required.
